In an effort to reduce gender discrimination, the government plans to provide cash and non cash incentives to parents in backward district to encourage them to register the birth of their daughter, send them to school regularly and not rush them into marriage as soon as they turn 18.
The women and child development ministry has submitted a proposal for a pilot scheme to the planning commission. According to the scheme, community vigilance groups to be appointed in each village will ensure adherence to these guidelines.

A local court has adjourned the hearing of Anant Singh’s bail application till November 7 after calling for the case diary and injury report of the two NDTV journalists.
It also issued a warrant for production of the JD(U) MLA lodged in Beur jail on the case of assault filed separately by cameraman of tv news agency Ajay Kumar.Yesterday Singh moved the court for bail in the cases.

A young girl, employed with a call centre company as an associate,was brutally assaulted after being sexually assaulted allegedly by the driver of the pick up car and his friend in a paddy field near a village, about 50 km from city , the police said.
The 21 year old victim, got into the pick up car to report for her night shift at around 10:30 pm on November but later har body was recovered by police on Friday morning.

16 A Punjab police team from bathinda headed by DSP Surinderpal singh visited the dera sacha sauda headpuarter here on Saturday to interrogate its chief gurmeet ram rahim singh in connection. He was questioned in a case registered against him at bathinda for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of sikhs. The police team remained in the dera chief quarters for about an hour. HARYANA HEALTH minister kartar devi yesterday said the registration of 165 ultrasound centres in the state had been cancelled and 34 cour cases filed in various courts so far under the pre natal diagnostic Techniques PNDT Act to combat female foeticide. Kartar Devi said 98 ultrasound machines had also been seized for being unregistered or for violations of PNDT Act. As a result of the steps taken to check the declining sex ratio the child sex ratio between 0-6 years of age had, as per2001 census, increased from 819 female to 857 in December last. It further increased to 862 in july this year, she said.

अपने एक कर्मचारी के आत्महत्या नोट के आधार पर अपराधी केस के तहत सिविल सर्जन डॉ. सतीश अग्रवाल की जमानत अर्जी आज ऊपर जिला और सेक्शन जज जे.एस जन्ग्र ने नामंजूर कर दी। सिटी पुलिस ने डॉ. अग्गार्वल और उसके एक सहयोगी वल्जोरा को ११ एक्ट आत्महत्या करने वालो च्रुथ श्रेणी के कर्मचारी के आत्महत्या नोट में नाम उल्लेखित होने के आरोपों में गिरफ्तार कर लिया।
